Description

The Sludge Judge® is designed to take to take accurate readings of settled solids, 5% or less, in a variety of liquids, to any depth. It is ideal for use anywhere that accurate sample levels of settled solids in noncaustic materials are needed. The unit holds approx. 89ml per 0.31m. The Sludge Judge® comes in 5.3m sections of 19mm plastic pipe with screw-type connectors. The top section includes a nylon line for raising and lowering the sampler. Do not use in liquids over 74C.

Seperate sections and cleaning brushes are also available.

To use:
1. Slowly lower the Sludge Judge® to the bottom of the tank. The float valve opens, allowing materials to flow in. When the bottom has been reached and the pipe has filled to the surface level, tug slightly on the rope as the unit is raised. This sets the check level, trapping the mixture inside.
2. When the unit has been raised clear if the liquid, the amount of solids in the sample can be read using the 0.31m increments marked on the pipe sections.
3. To release the material in the unit, touch the pin extending from the bottom section against a hard surface. This opens the check valve to drain the sample.
